I’ve been a lot of stress lately because of this growing sense of dread. That and having to come to work to an understaffed department on the 26th and the 30th. That’s normally fine with me, but somehow there just happened to be negative people around me, in and out of order management.

The result? I’ve been shopping nonstop. Oh yes, even after the Divisoria trip with my mom and my sister. Aah… the power of retail therapy! I now have 3 new pairs of shoes and 1 expensive blouse from Apple & Eve. I need to stop, otherwise, I will find myself in debt again with CitiBank… And then some jerk out there will get angry because my accomplishment for zero debt at the end of 2008 (yup, I finally did it!) will just be defeated. Don’t worry, I’m pretty sure I haven’t gone past the Php4K mark. I will refrain from spending or at least using my card until I have paid my current debt by end of January and replenished what’s been depleted from my savings account. So help me, God.

What keeps me excited to go to work everyday? My daily dose of Starbucks with Candy, Abi, Xiel, and Angel at Emerald Avenue. The friendly baristas who now know me by name. Hot tall nonfat caramel macchiato, no whip. Throw in a caramel waffle once in a while — it’s a real dandy treat.

Oh… come to think of it, there’s one more good thing I get out of the lateral promotion. Come Monday, I will no longer hear the raspy despicable voice of a living skeleton with a poor excuse for flesh, face, and fame. Eew! Thank God!

I hate how you have made me THIS miserable on the last day of the year. Out of all the days, it especially had to be TODAY. Just when my back has been tied in severe knots. Just when there are only the 3 of us doing a workload for 5 employees. I do NOT friggin’ need this crap.

I’ve been doing great since we talked last Christmas. I just can’t understand why for the life of me, it was only today that I’ve figured out that I am fine and will continue to be fine until you resurrect from the dead. Whatever twinge of happiness it brings me will always be short-lived and will always have something to do with that poor excuse of a human being I have to deal with hearing everyday. Had it not been for the workstation dividers, I would have been in jail for homicide long ago.

I challenge you to an ultimatum. If you break your word about not communicating with him in any way when the New Year kicks in, you are so dead to me. You understand? You don’t exist to me anymore. I guess your life will be happier anyways, since you value that ugly piece of crap way more than you value me anyways. You always have, and you always will.

I’ve grown sick of it. I admit, I still cannot let go of my old clothes, in hopes that one day, I will get to lose a little tummy, shed a few pounds off my arms, but I’ve been buying a lot of stuff that hasn’t seen the light of day yet. For one, my current job does not have a dress code, so I feel a little shy towards dressing up.

I have to thank my not-so-recently-acquired interest in the Korean culture. Watching my own share of Kdramas have given me inspiration. Cheesy but true. I’m currently self-studying spoken Hangul. My palatal preferences have expanded to the realm of Korean everyday/gourmet cooking.

The best part? Having to emulate the street-smart everyday fashion of Korean women. I’d already bought a handful of stuff. I know, the weather is not the same. Global warming is turning the cold “ber” Philippine months into the typically humid Manila temperature at high noon. I would have to wait most probably until the next Christmas season in order to be able to put all the ideas I have into action, but hey, I’m not complaining.

Posting a couple of pics of Yoon Eun Hye — my favorite Korean fashion icon at present — wearing some pieces that I might be able to pull off. (I would post something of Chae Rim’s, but I couldn’t find any good shots that would show off what she’s wearing well…)

It’s discouraging to see that the source of this fiasco is just basic golf etiquette, but a father and his son had to be beaten to a pulp. If we continue to elect these types of people, what is going to happen to the Philippines?
